Anki flashcard exporter for your own study notes

Make a small, deliberate set of Anki notes from material you choose. Write a question and answer, or mark a cloze deletion yourself. Preview, edit, and export notes without connecting an Anki account.

Input Manually written Basic or Cloze notes · Optional selected source text · Optional source URLOutput Editable note collection and plain-text preview · Separate Basic and Cloze TSV files · Anki import instructions

Optional source material

Select a passage in the box first. You choose every question, answer, and hidden word. Subtitle imports extract text and do not add playback links automatically.

Write one note

Create up to 500 notes, with at most 2 million total note characters. No account or Anki connection is needed.

Draft preview

Preview a Basic question or a Cloze deletion before adding it.

Your notes (0)

Your added notes will appear here.

In Anki, import each file separately. Choose the Basic or Cloze note type, Tab separator, and Allow HTML. Map the two columns to Front / Back or Text / Back Extra. Source links are appended to the second field. Review duplicate handling before importing: matching first fields can update existing notes. Downloads contain escaped text and safe line breaks, not active user HTML.

How to use it

  1. Write a note directly, or paste or import text you are allowed to use. Select a passage to copy it into a Basic answer or a Cloze text field.
  2. For Basic, write both a question and an answer. For Cloze, select the words to hide and choose a deletion number, or type a flat marker such as {{c1::retrieval practice}}. Add an optional source link and preview the note.
  3. Add notes to the collection, editing or removing any that need work. Download Basic and Cloze notes separately; one cloze note can produce several Anki cards when it uses different deletion numbers.
  4. In Anki, import the TSV with the matching Basic or Cloze note type, Tab separator, and Allow HTML enabled. Map columns to Front / Back or Text / Back Extra, choose your deck, and check the duplicate handling before importing.

A small example

A Basic note asks “What is retrieval practice?” and answers “Recalling what you know without looking at the source.” The Cloze example hides retrieval practice inside a sentence. The downloads keep these note types in separate files so you can choose the correct Anki import mapping.

What to know

  • You author the content. This tool does not generate AI flashcards, scrape videos, judge factual accuracy, connect to Anki, synchronize a deck, or create an APKG package.
  • Use up to 500 notes and 2 million total note characters. Each question/text or answer/extra field allows 20,000 characters. Optional source imports are UTF-8 TXT, SRT, or VTT, up to 5 MiB and 2 million characters.
  • Cloze support covers flat {{c1::answer}} and {{c1::answer::hint}} markers with numbers 1–999. Nested deletions and custom templates are outside this tool. The preview hides all deletions together; Anki groups them by deletion number.
  • The export uses UTF-8 tab-separated fields with Anki headers supported in Anki 2.1.54 and newer. It escapes user HTML and media-like text, adding only safe HTML line breaks. Review the import preview if using an older version.
  • Anki can update existing notes when their first field matches. Review the duplicate setting and take an appropriate backup before importing. Source URLs are plain text in the second field. The page stores nothing after you leave or clear it.
For assistants and developers

This is a browser tool with visible, labeled controls and local processing. Read the usage guide or machine-readable catalog for supported inputs, outputs, examples, and limits. No API key or server endpoint is available. A catalog listing is documentation, not automatic integration with every AI assistant.
